Groups Unite to Support Our Troops

The "Fit 'n Firm" exercise class at Belleair Country Club, pictured above, is among the many groups who have joined the "Support Our Troops" efforts coordinated locally by Marilyn DiGirol. Participants are holding the banner they signed which will accompany Christmas boxes to be sent to troops serving in the Middle East. Class instructor Connie Black, kneeling at left above, has a brother serving in the military. DiGirol, a member of the Military Order of the World Wars, behind banner in white shirt, has also overseen the collection of donations and flags and banners which have been signed by other supporters, including a group of nurses, the Military Order of the World Wars, Clearwater Veterans Alliance, Belleair Rotary Club and students from Belleair Elementary School. A group of citizens from Belleair Bluffs will travel to the "Support Our Troops" organization based in Tampa for assistance in packing the boxes headed for soldier units in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Quatar and other regions.
