
Renowned Artist Guy Harvey to Visit Clearwater Marine AquariumWorld-renowned marine wildlife artist and conservationist Guy Harvey will visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) Saturday, December 5, at 6 p.m. to create a one-of-a-kind painting with Winter the dolphin (and artist). The unique event will also include a talk by Harvey, a private dolphin show, raffles, silent and live auctions (featuring artwork by Harvey), food, drinks, music and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit CMA and the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. Clearwater Marine Aquarium (located at 249 Windward Passage on Island Estates). The cost of the event is $75 per person and limited seating is available. Winter lost her tail after getting caught in a crab trap line in December 2005.She had to figure out a way to swim without her natural tail and is now even learning how to swim with a one-of-a-kind prosthetic tail. Her amazing story is told in detail in Winter's Tail, a book recently published by Scholastic, and in the film "Winter: The Dolphin that Could," sold at www.SeeWinter.com. Winter is a dolphin that "never says never" and her story of survival inspires people all over the world. Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a working animal hospital dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine life.
