Firefighters Raise Money for Displaced Children to Celebrate the Holidays

CLEARWATER - Each year, Clearwater Fire & Rescue raises money for children in state custody who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect, and who have not been placed in the foster care system. The department is accepting donations to make the holidays a little brighter for displaced children.

If you would like to donate, you can drop off or mail a check to:

Shelter Care Christmas
c/o Asst. Chief Doug Swartz
610 Franklin Street
Clearwater, Fla. 33756
*Donations must be received by December 16th to allow time for shopping, wrapping and delivery. Donations are tax deductible.

Fire department personnel and volunteers will use this money to purchase toys and gifts for these kids. They range in age from 3 days to 17 years old. There are currently over 100 kids in Shelter Care in Pinellas County.
