Leave a new, unwrapped toy by your mailbox that day for your mail carrier to pick up, or you can drop one by the post office by Monday, the 7th. Sunday December 6th is the annual Holiday street parade. The parade leaves the Chic-A-Si Park area at 1 p.m. Look for them to come by your house sometime that afternoon. The parade will be followed by the Children's Party with Santa in the city auditorium. Instead of a float, the Homeowners Association is organizing a group of members to ride bikes during the parade. Everyone is welcome to join in. If you would like to participate e-mail Phil Wrobel for information. If you would like to help by donating food for the children's party, please bring your tray of finger sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, etc. to the city auditorium, at noon on Sunday. The city is still in need of a convertible or two for elected officials to ride in. If you have one they can use, please call Joan at the City of Indian Rocks Beach, 727-517-0404. Sunday, December 6th is the annual Rotary Super Bowl drawing. The event, from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., has been moved to Jimmy Guana's. There will be a light appetizer buffet and drink specials before the drawing, where someone will win two tickets to the Super Bowl, held this year in Miami - four nights lodging and $1000 spending money. Sunday, December 13th is the Redington/Indian Shores Holiday Lighted Boat Parade. You can view it from multiple areas along the route or see it at The Pub, where it ends, around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, December 11th is the IRB Homeowners Association's Holiday Social and annual Toy Drive, at Impressive Designs from 6 - 8 p.m. Please bring a new, un-wrapped toy for the toy drive, and attend for some Holiday Cheer. There will be complimentary appetizers, with beer and wine for sale. Plan to do a little holiday shopping while you are there. If you are unable to attend, there will be a donation box in City Hall. Thursday, December 17th is the Lighted Boat Parade's Captain's meeting. It will once again be held at Jimmy Guana's. It will be combined this year with the monthly IRB Boat Club meeting. Saturday December 19th is the 23rd Annual IRB Holiday Lighted Boat parade. The boats line up around 6:30 at the Holiday Inn Harborside and at 7 p.m. proceed north. If you don't live on the water, the Holiday Inn deck is a great place to view it. The Homeowners Association has donated $1500 to make sure we have a great parade this year. If you would like to participate in the parade, now is the time to register. Contact Randy Schwab, at the city 595-6889, or RSchwab@irbcity.com. Monday, December 21st is the Awards Party for the boats participating in the IRB Lighted Boat parade. This year, instead of the evening of the parade, it has been moved to the following Monday.
