2010 Daisy Grant Applications Now AvailableCLEARWATER - The GFWC Clearwater Community Woman's Club will be awarding grants up to $1000 to nonprofit organizations located in North Pinellas County that have demonstrated positive service to the community. Applicants can access the 2010 application through the GFWC Clearwater Community Woman's Club Web site, www.clearwatercwc.org. The deadline for submission is February 12, 2010. The awards will be presented at the 39th annual Daisy Grants Fashion Show to be held at the Belleair Country Club on April 15. 2010. In 2009 $5000 in grants were awarded to Clothes To Kids, Inc., Family Resources Inc., The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, the RCS Food Bank and UPARC Foundation. Betsy Dort, CCWC Grants Chair, states that this is the clubs way of filling a need in the community "by helping other non-profits in these trying economic times to continue boosting the morale, by filling basic needs, for children, youth and families with a hand up." (creating our own stimulus to the area economy where it is needed most. )
