Police Detective Anthony Monte Promoted to Sergeant

CLEARWATER - Clearwater Police Detective Anthony Monte was promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant during a special ceremony at Police Headquarters. "Sergeant Monte brings all the right tools to the table. He has had an outstanding career to date and will make an excellent supervisor," said Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein.

Sergeant Anthony Monte is a 13-year-veteran with the Clearwater Police Department. Monte has served as a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division since 2001 working in the Crimes Against Children and Families and Robbery/Homicide Units. In his most recent assignment, Sergeant Monte worked as the lead investigator for several high profile cases as a homicide investigator. Sergeant Monte has also worked as a Traffic Homicide Investigator, Sex Crimes Investigator, Field Training Officer and School Resource Officer. He was a member of the S.W.A.T. Team from 2000 - 2003.

Sergeant Monte will be assigned to the Patrol Division. His promotion took effect, December 5, 2009.
