Trees and Traditions Featured at Heritage Village

Tom O'Brien, who was conducting holiday "Trees and Traditions" guided tours on a recent morning at Heritage Village in Largo, is pictured by the Victorian-era "rich man's tree" found in the House of Seven Gables. The 1907 Queen Anne-style house was originally built on a bluff in downtown Clearwater. It was moved to the 21-acre living history museum at 11909 125th St. N. in 1976. The house is decorated for Christmas as it would have been in its heyday. Most of the ornaments on the tree are handmade. The candles which adorned such a tree at the time were lit only on Christmas Eve, O'Brien advised.
