Bringing Ho-Ho-Hope to Thousands of Kids in Foster CareLARGO - Thousands of children in the local foster care system will have a brighter holiday this year thanks to the generosity of big-hearted groups and individuals throughout the Tampa Bay area. Organized by Eckerd Community Alternatives and its community partners, the annual Foster Angel program expects one of its biggest giving years ever. The Foster Angel program, which has been in existence for more than fifteen years in this community, lists the wishes of children on special holiday angels that are displayed throughout the Tampa Bay area. In turn, groups and individuals adopt a child's angel and purchase gifts for that child. Here are a few impressive stats from this year's Foster Angel program in Pinellas and Pasco counties:
Many area businesses and organizations adopted 50+ angels, and one area restaurant is donating 30 new bicycles this year. Although space prohibits us from listing all groups and individuals who have given so generously this holiday season, Eckerd Community Alternatives would like to extend a special heartfelt "thank you" to everyone in the Tampa Bay community for giving Ho-Ho-Hope to our kids. Drop Off Schedule Gifts will be dropped off transforming offices at Eckerd Community Alternatives into the "North Pole" and staff into "Santa's elves." On Thursday afternoon 30+ bicycles are scheduled to be delivered. Eckerd Community Alternatives is located at 6451 126th Avenue, Suite 300, Largo, Florida 33773.
