
U.S. Senate Candidate Marco Rubio to Speak at Belleair Women's Republican ClubBELLEAIR - Former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and current candidate for United States Senator Marco Rubio will be featured guest speaker at the January luncheon meeting of Belleair Women's Republican Club (BWRC). Members of the public are invited to attend the luncheon meeting, which will be held January 8, 2010, at Belleair Country Club, One Country Club Lane, Belleair. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with lunch and speaker to follow beginning at noon. Reservations and pre- purchased tickets are required for admittance to the event. Tickets are $21 per person and will be collected at the door. Reservations and ticket purchases may be arranged by calling 727-724-3242 or 727-596-5024. The deadline for reservations is January 6, 2010. Seating is limited. Marco Rubio, a resident of West Miami, Florida, served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000-2008. During this period, he served as Majority Whip, Majority Leader and Speaker of the House. Rubio, a Cuban-American, is an attorney. He earned a bachelor's degree from University of Florida and a law degree from University of Miami. Belleair Women's Republican Club was chartered April 17, 1964. The purposes of the organization are to promote an informed electorate, to increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government, to foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to work for the election of Republican candidates. Membership is open to any registered Republican. Meetings are held the first Friday of the month at Belleair Country Club.
