Rutgers, UCF Descend Upon Area for 2nd Annual St. Pete BowlThe St. Petersburg Bowl returns to Tropicana Field Saturday, Dec. 19, when the University of Central Florida battles Rutgers in a BIG EAST/Conference USA tilt. The game will be broadcast in primetime on ESPN, airing at 8:00 EST. Event festivities, including the Party on the Pier, Beach Bash and Battle of the Bands, begin Wednesday, Dec. 16, and are sure to entertain the thousands of faithful fans that will be in town to cheer on their favorite team. Over 25,000 fans attended the inaugural event in 2008, generating 3,375 room nights in the area and pumping nearly $1 million into the local economy.
