LARGO - The City of Largo is pleased to announce the success of its 4th annual, Shop with a Cop/Firefighter held on Saturday, December 12. Off-duty members of the Largo Police and Fire Departments assisted 34 struggling families on a holiday spree at the Missouri Ave. Walmart, in Largo.

"Largo Fire Rescue is proud to be part of the this holiday event. Without Shop with a Cop/Firefighter, there are many children who would not experience the joy of Christmas," Largo Fire Chief Wallace stated.

Over $9,000 was raised this year with major contributions coming from Walmart Corporation, Turkey Trot organizers, Charity Works of Clearwater and Largo City Commissioner Mary Black. Also, Walmart shoppers donated over $250 in gift cards and cash during the event.

"It's just amazing to see such generosity from our community and sponsors. We couldn't have had this event without them," commented Largo Police Chief Aradi.
