Seminole Community Library Celebrates 50 YearsSEMINOLE - The Seminole Community Library at St. Petersburg College will host "Start the Celebration!" the kickoff event to mark its 50th year of service, on Saturday, January 9, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The library started in 1960 as a civic project of the Business and Professional Women's Club, growing over the years to its current award-winning, joint-use facility on the Seminole Campus of St Petersburg College. "Start the Celebration" will include a mayoral proclamation, activities for children, Friends of the Library Book Sale, a library history presentation, library remembrances and anecdotes, door prizes, and refreshments. The event is the first of several throughout 2010 to commemorate the library's 50th anniversary.
