At this time there are no new plans for the Midway Plaza Shopping Center - located near the intersection of Rosery and Missouri. I have spoken with the property owners and I have information on the location to help "pitch" the product. At one time there was talk about Kohl's building at the vacant land once home to Builders Square - but there has not been any recent activity on that site. I do not believe that Publix will be constructing a new store in the Plaza since they have redone an Albertsons to the north and it has recently opened. The good news is that we designated this area a Brownfield and with that there are opportunities for retailers to receive incentives for locating to these redevelopment areas. Also, we are in the process of conducting a complete inventory on the commercial properties that are in this area and will be creating a marketing program to help "promote" the redevelopment of this area. - Teresa Brydon
