CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Garden Club kicked off 2010 earlier this month with a "Cooking from the Garden" seminar presented by Karen Saley of the Pinellas County Extension Service. Next on the agenda is the "Winter Warm-Up Luncheon and Card Party", which is scheduled at noon on January 26. Lunch will consist of chicken salad served with a croissant, fruit, dessert and coffee. President Jean Columbo advises those attending may "bring any game they wish to play". There will be an opportunity drawing for a variety of gift baskets donated by members, she said. Cost is $10 per person. Reservations are required. For further information, call luncheon coordinator Alice Jarvis at 391-3066.

Persons interested in creating a Valentine floral arrangement may join members for the Valentine Workshop planned on February 12. Time is 9:45 a.m. Tea hostess is Kathy Jacob.

Members are also looking forward to Lasagna Night, which will take place at 5 p.m. on February 26. This is a fundraiser for the club and one of two "special events" held throughout the year. First vice-president Dr. Caroline Kaufmann is coordinating the affair. For more information on the Valentine Workshop or Lasagna Night, call 595-2882.

The Clearwater Garden Club will team up with the Bay Bouquet Garden Club to present "Along the Intracoastal", a Standard Flower Show, at Clearwater Garden Club headquarters, 405 Seminole Street, March 19-20. Hours will be 1-5 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. A reception is planned at 5 p.m. on March 20. Admission is free. Both clubs are members of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
