Rosery Rd. - e-mail sent to Largo Commissioner Mary Gray BlackWell this weather will keep people with enough twitter and grumbling for awhile. Have you driven up Rosery Rd. NE (between Highland and Missouri) lately? The road is deteriorating. That isn't normal wear and tear. This is from the heavy truck usage over the years. I have personally called all trucking companies whenever I could get the phone number off their trucks. Honestly, they proclaimed they didn't know their people were violating the law. I told them that using Rosery to circumvent the traffic lights on East Bay Drive was going to cost them. I pointed out that in conference with our police dept, which by the way you have to pass to re-enter the East Bay corridor. Traffic violations make your insurance to up, thereby causing the product pricing to increase. Well, I'm not sure just what the magic was but we get only a few a week now instead of a few a day. Rosery will be in need of repair "very shortly." It like so many other road in town are falling apart. I hear this every day from the people I meet on the job. I'm writing to you because you live in the "neighborhood". Please put us on the list for repairs. The voters in this area will appreciate it. I invite you and anyone else on the commission to take a guided tour of our ongoing landscaping projects. The new principal has the moxy and intelligence to do a fab job. I'm on loan to the school from the Botanical Gardens. I'm "The Master Gardener of Largo High." It's a great job. Only problem is that we don't have budget so we beg and whine and folks donate plants they no longer want. Our letter to the editor for out of season Poinsettias has people bringing them in every day. We turn down nothing. Perhaps the whole commission could find time, perhaps individually, to tour the school grounds. - Marie F. Hoke Singer MG
