Asking The Tough Questions For Clearwater Beach

By Anne McKay Garris

"Do you think the City's development code which allows buildings to come closer to the lot lines, is good, or bad for the Clearwater Beach community?" is one of the questions which will be put to the Clearwater City Council candidates next Wednesday evening at the Clearwater Beach Association's Candidates Forum.

Some of the other questions will be on the subject of enforcement of short term rental laws - researching special funds like the parking fund and the Downtown fund to find needed monies for libraries, recreation centers, police and fire protection - subsidizing private parking garages - protecting the environment of the beach.

The six Council member candidates have accepted the CBA invitation to be on hand and answer the questions, some of which will be accepted from the audience. Members of the public are invited to attend the forum, meet the candidates and hear their answers to pertinent questions so that they will be better informed to decide how to vote.

The Forum will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center on Wednesday, February 10.
