
Morton Plant Mease Turley Family Health Center To Offer Free Skin Cancer ScreeningsAccording to the American Cancer Society, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. More than one million skin cancers are diagnosed annually. A Florida resident is diagnosed once every two hours with a new case of melanoma skin cancer. If caught in its early stages, melanoma is almost always curable. If caught early, skin cancer is highly curable. To encourage earlier detection of skin cancer, Morton Plant Mease's Turley Family Health Center in Clearwater is providing the community with free skin cancer screenings. Physicians and nurses will perform free, full-body screenings to detect suspicious areas of the skin that may be cancerous and require follow up medical care. The free skin cancer screening will take place on Thursday, February 11 & February 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Turley Family Health Center, 807 N. Myrtle Ave., Clearwater, FL.
