Paige Railey Takes Gold At Miami OCR
Laser Radial Awards: Alison Young (GBR), Paige Railey (USA), and Alicia Cebrian (ESP). Clearwater's Paige Railey won gold at US SAILING's 2010 Rolex Miami OCR, the second of seven stops of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Sailing World Cup 2009-2010. Fleet racing finished on Friday with the top 10 competitors racing in the double point medal race on Saturday. Going into the medal race Paige had a 33-point lead, so could have finished tenth and still won; however, she finished first in the medal race for a total score of 35 points, with Alicia Cebrian of Spain in 2nd with 74 points, and Alison Young of Great Britain in 3rd with 112 points. In Finns, Zach Railey was the top USA sailor finishing in 4th place.
