Healing Garden Completed At Morton Plant Hospital

CLEARWATER - Patients and visitors at Morton Plant Hospital can now enjoy a peaceful outdoor retreat, built with funds donated by the Morton Plant Caring Partners volunteers, to promote healing.

Caring Partners volunteers donated all funds for the new Healing Garden at Morton Plant Hospital in memory of Jack Bower, former president of Caring Partners. Bower joined Caring Partners in 2001 as a Care Van driver, assumed the position of Care Van Chairman in 2002, became Executive Vice President in 2004, and served as President from 2006 through 2008. He continued contributing greatly to Morton Plant Caring Partners until his passing in 2009.

The Healing Garden was completed on January 12, 2010. The 4,750 square foot garden includes a tranquil waterfall, lighted pergola, vibrant foliage, and benches from which to enjoy the surroundings.

"The Healing Garden is a fitting tribute to Jack Bower," stated Hal Ziecheck, Chief Operating Office at Morton Plant Hospital. "Jack was incredibly passionate and dedicated to the well-being of patients, always taking the lead when there was a need. He would be very pleased to see such a special space that will aid in the healing process."
