Animal League Event Focuses on the MuttsPhotos/text by SANDI FAHY

The youngsters, who have been committed to raising funds for various animal shelters in the community for the past two years, spent three days the week before rescuing feral cats.
 City of Clearwater employee Cheryl Ford, pictured above at left with Pomeranian "Sissy", meets Sylvia Borges of the U.S. Census Bureau, shown with her black lab, "Tulipita", prior to the Project Doggie Runway fashion show at the Suncoast Animal League's Mutt March at Highlander Park on February 20. Borges advised "Tulipita" was a rescue dog that was paralyzed when the shelter took her in. The canine is recovering after treatment and is now able to walk again.
