CSX Railroad Construction to Replace RailwayCLEARWATER - Sections of East Avenue throughout Clearwater will be closed from March 2nd to May 31st to northbound and southbound traffic due to railroad construction. The railroad ties along East Avenue will be replaced. The road and all intersections along the road will be closed as follows:
Northbound and southbound traffic can use Myrtle and Fort Harrison avenues as detours, and detour signs will be posted for eastbound and westbound traffic at East Avenue intersections. Eastbound and westbound traffic will not be able to cross at the following intersections from March 2nd to 29th:
Exception: The intersection of Cleveland Street and East Avenue will remain open to traffic, as CSX completed the railroad tie replacement work during the Downtown Cleveland Street Streetscaping project a couple years ago.
