Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisMarch is here and it's spring-cleaning time. And while you're digging, if you find buried treasure that is taking up needed space in your house, the Friends of the Clearwater Beach Library and Recreation Center will gladly take it off your hands. The Friends are planning a Buried Treasures Sale to benefit activities at the Library and Recreation Center and need treasures to sell. They're asking for donations of furniture, glassware, items of beach decor, antiques, jewelry, collectibles, and books. Almost anything, except clothes, will be sold to benefit our community with interesting programs and activities. The sale will be held on March 27th, at the Triangle Park on Bay Esplanade and Narcissus Street. If you have something to donate, please call Pat Power at (727) 446-0929 to discuss pick-up or delivery. Meantime plans are underway for "All About Sea Shells," a two-session program of shell craft and seashell information, planned for March 16th and March 23rd. Lean more about the shells you find on the beach, and discover ways to use them in making gifts and home decorations, including elegant Christmas tree decorations. The Pilates classes on Mondays, from 9:30 to 10:30 are well attended, but still open for newcomers to join. You need to hurry if you've been thinking of taking the digital photography course offered by the Rec Center. Space is limited so that participants will enjoy practically one-on-one attention to their questions. With the cold weather calling for indoor activities, even in Florida, be sure and check out the things to do and see at our charming library and recreation center. Call (727) 462-6138 for more information.
