SPCA Tampa Bay hosted the Tampa Bay 2010 Dog Games on February 20 in celebration of the Winter Olympics. Following the Canine Freestyle Dancing event, the above pictured winners were awarded Olympic-style medals. From left, they are pit bull Biggie, silver medalist, shown with volunteer Terry Meeks; pit bull mix Sparky, winner of the gold medal, pictured with SPCA behavior manager Donna Bainter; and pug Louie, recipient of the bronze medal, shown with owner Dayle Burger. Biggie and Sparky are both shelter dogs. Louie is a former shelter dog who was fostered and later adopted by Burger.
