SAR Color Guard Participates in Massing of the Colors

A combined Color Guard of the Clearwater and Tampa Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution participated in the 29th Massing of the Colors on Sunday, March 7. The event was held at the Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor. 36 color guards from the Tampa Bay area also were present. The Clearwater Chapter, Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution, meets at the Dunedin Country Club, 1050 Palm Blvd., Dunedin, on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings start at 11:30 a.m. with a social period, a luncheon at noon, followed by a guest speaker. Cost is $18 per person paid in advance, $20 at the door. Suggested attire is sport coat and tie. Meetings for the Tampa Chapter are held in the private meeting room of the Piccadilly Cafeteria, located at 11810 Dale Mabry Highway North, Tampa, (813-963-1660), on the third Saturday of the month. Meetings begin at noon, but members arrive as early as 11:30 a.m. for a time of camaraderie.
