Fine Arts Society Moves ForwardAt the Fine Arts Society meeting on February 18th, held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the membership voted to sponsor the 2010 Fall Exhibitions at the Dunedin Fine Art Center with the profits of the upcoming fundraiser which will take place April 22, 2010 - details to come later. A letter was read to the members from Kay Campbell, Education and Grant Director for the Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department, thanking the Society for the $5000 grant given in May 2009. A residency art program has been instituted at the Ponce de Leon School led by teaching artist, Pamela Miles. The membership also was given a guided tour of the current exhibit at the Fine Arts Museum. It was a full and gratifying day for those attending. Future fundraising event profits will be given to a different art venue each year to foster the growth of the visual arts in Pinellas County.
