Largo Public Library Hosts "Amazing Australia: The Land and the People"

PINELLAS COUNTY - Friendship Force of the Florida Suncoast invites the public to attend a presentation on "Amazing Australia: The Land and the People" on Saturday, March 20, at 2:30 p.m. at the Largo Public Library at 120 Central Park Drive in Largo. Catherine and John Conover will present a slide show of their three month trek through Australia to places like Sydney, The Blue Mountains, The Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, The Twelve Apostles, Ayres Rock, and the Ghan Train from Adelaid to Alice Springs and then on to Darwin. A display of articles from Australia will available for viewing one half hour before and after the 2:30 p.m. meeting. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter helped develop Friendship Force, an international organization in 1977 with its mission of promoting global understanding across the barriers that separate people. Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992, Friendship Force International has now grown to over 350 chapters in over 50 countries on 6 continents.
