P.E.O. Bunco Party Funds Scholarship for Local Woman
P.E.O. Chapter HK based in Seminole, raises funds for local women's scholarships. SEMINOLE - The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Chapter HK announced results of their annual Bunco party to scholarship funds for young women starting college or those reentering college to increase their skills and potential earning power. For example, Largo resident Valerie Gayne nearly completed her coursework as a Registered Nurse at St. Petersburg College. Ms. Gayne urgently needed the tuition money to complete her studies in order to graduate. The women of P.E.O. Chapter HK recognized Valerie's potential and presented her with a grant so she can complete her education. "We were delighted to raise a significant amount to fund local women's college educational needs," noted Anne Massey, chair of the event. "Since 1994, our local Chapter HK has assisted 30 area women with scholarships, grants and loans. Our 140-year old organization continues to focus on its mission of educating women and creating an environment where personal growth is encouraged and friendships are nurtured." "We wish to thank the more than 100 ladies who attended our annual Bunco Luncheon, and we especially thank all those who donated raffle gifts, door prizes and the delicious luncheon buffet. It was a great afternoon to raise funds for area women's educational goals and dreams."
