
Accreditation Assessment Team Invites Public CommentA team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will arrive April 10th to examine all aspects of the Largo Police Department's policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. Verification by the team that the Largo Police Department meets the Commission's state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation - a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence. As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer public comments at a public information session on April 12th at 5:30 p.m. The session will be conducted in the Largo Police Department, located at 201 Highland Avenue, Largo. Additionally, for those members of the public that would prefer to call in their comments, there will be a phone line open and available. This phone line will go directly to the assessors and will be open from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., on Monday, April 12. The phone number for public comment will be (727) 586-7382.
