CLEARWATER - Clearwater seniors can look forward to the June 2010 opening of an Aging Well facility under construction at the Long Center, where they'll have access to a variety of programs promoting health and wellness, as well as opportunities for recreation and creative expression.

The center will also serve as a resource for the entire community. It will be a source for aging related information, support for family caregivers, training professionals, community leaders and students; and for developing innovative approaches to address aging issues.

Programs and activities will be held in new classrooms and two large meeting rooms. In addition, the center will provide visitors with a computer area with Wi-Fi access, a lounge, and an art gallery to showcase the center's student and teacher artworks.

Kerry Marsalek, Clearwater's Office on Aging Manager said, "Patrons will be able to socialize while gaining benefits from a full range of programs. The center will offer exercise classes, lunch and learn seminars, genealogy instruction, photography classes, dances, and many other engaging activities."

Those visiting the facility will also have convenient access to the Long Center's existing amenities, including a state-of-the-art expanded fitness center, gym, aquatic center, and walking and biking trails.

The Long Center is located at 1501 N. Belcher Rd., and is a PSTA bus stop.
