Helio Castroneves celebrates his first win of the season with the Alabama fans, Spiderman-style. Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, couldn't have asked for a better race or better weather last weekend, as the third event of the 2010 IndyCar season was won by Penske Racing's Helio Castroneves.
Castroneves (3) lost his early lead to Marco Andretti (26) in this pass at Barber's hairpin.
Andretti's mirrors were full of Castroneves for much of the race, but Andretti had to make a late race pit stop for fuel, handing the lead to Castroneves. Andretti finished fifth.
With 14 laps remaining, Simona De Silvestro (78) spun, causing a full-track caution and tightening-up the field.
Scott Dixon was able to pressure Castroneves in the closing laps, but couldn't pass and settled for second.
