Clearwater Civitans Return to Countryside Meeting LocationThe Clearwater Civitans have returned to the Countryside Country Club meeting room. They conducted an initiation ceremony for three new members. April Oberle, a Largo resident, was initiated and named the Advisor to the North Pinellas Junior Civitan Club. Rick Slater and Bob Blackham, both Clearwater residents, were also initiated into this active volunteer organization. Clearwater Civitans, including newly initiated members, have been volunteering February through April at the Sid Lickton Field refreshment stand during the Challenger League baseball games. The Junior Civitan Club members have been coaching and assisting the Challenger League players on the ball field. This project will finish up on May 1st and 2nd when Civitans will man the refreshment stand at the Countryside ball fields, during the upcoming statewide Challenger League Jamboree. The Junior Civitans will help serve the refreshments and will continue to assist the players on the ball field. The Clearwater Civitan Club is still seeking and recruiting volunteers to assist in new projects and fundraising programs.
