Francis Wilson Playhouse Elects New President
Andy Rufo, the newly elected President of the Francis Wilson Playhouse, is pictured here on the grounds of the Playhouse. Andy Rufo was the newly elected 33rd President of the Francis Wilson Playhouse on Sunday, April 11, at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Membership held in the lobby of the Playhouse at 302 Seminole Street, Clearwater. Also elected to the 12-member volunteer Board of Directors were Babs Bailey, David Camburn, Dianna Hanger, Kristen Rowell, and Dotti Voegeli. Tickets to the current production, "Enchanted April," which runs from April 22nd to May 2nd, are available at the box office by calling (727) 446-1360. This charming story about a group of women rediscovering hope and love while on vacation at an Italian villa has twice been made into a motion picture, the most recent in 1992 starring Joan Plowright, who was nominated for an academy award for her role. This Clearwater production comes from the Tony-nominated stage adaptation that appeared on Broadway in 2003. Since 1930, Clearwater's favorite community theatre has entertained audiences with high quality plays at low prices by presenting local volunteer actors.
