
Kiwanis Club in Clearwater Wins AwardsKat George, immediate past president of Kiwanis Club of Springtime City - Clearwater, recently picked up the following awards for her club at a Florida District Zone Conference in Bradenton. The Kiwanis Club of Springtime City was honored by the Florida District of Kiwanis International with Honorable Mention within the following committees: Community Service, Human and Spiritual Values, Interclub Relations and Round Robin, Young Children: Priority One, Youth Services, and Caring Corner. In addition, the club received the award of Distinguished Club. The club provides over 25 service activities each year, including: 17th annual free Children's Health Fair - every July, Max De Vane/Bill Roy scholarship for CHS graduating seniors, many school programs from Headstart through High School, i.e. - Key Club at Clearwater High School, 48th Annual Ed Wells, Jr./Kiwanis Invitational Track Meet, and holiday gifts to children identified by Isaiah's Inn. In addition, volunteer support and direct donations to organizations that benefit children and youth in the Clearwater area. Kiwanis Defining Statement is: Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
