Local Resident Recognized for Service in World War 2

The Clearwater Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution present David Penrod with a War Service Medal for his military service during World War 2.

On April 21st, the Clearwater Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented to David Penrod with a War Service Medal for his military service during World War 2. Chapter George Pratt and Veterans Committee Chairman James Gibson made the presentation at the monthly meeting. Compatriot Penrod spent 30+ days on Iwo Jima during the fight for the island.

The Clearwater Chapter, Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution meets at the Dunedin Country Club, (1050 Palm Blvd, Dunedin,) on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings start at 11:30 a.m. with a social period, a luncheon at noon, and are followed by a guest speaker. Cost is $18 per person paid in advance, and $20 at the door. Suggested attire is sport coat and tie. Wives and guests are encouraged to attend.

The Clearwater Chapter serves the communities of Northern Pinellas and Pasco counties. Activities include a variety of programs to promote the patriotic, educational, and historical interests resulting from the American Revolution.
