Committee on Aging Honors Seniors During Senior Awareness Month

The City of Dunedin's Committee On Aging feels that we should all take time out from our busy lives once a year to honor seniors for the wonderful, positive impact their lives have made and continue to make on others. The little things which each of us do everyday in the moments of our lives have enormous potential to change the world around us. Our seniors have had the opportunity to have a lifetime of significant moments. Those moments have shaped our world.

As a part of their Senior Awareness Month Celebration, the Committee On Aging calls for nominations once a year to Dunedin's Senior Hall of Fame. The Dunedin Senior Hall of Fame honors and celebrates Dunedin's elderly residents who have made significant contributions to our community.

Honored inductees must be 75 years old or older and have lived in Dunedin for 10 years or more. More importantly, they have demonstrated the art of aging successfully, and inductees have donated time and abilities to activities serving the community. This award will be presented on May 19th at the Dr. William E. Hale Senior Activity Center (330 Douglas Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The award ceremony and celebration will include a luncheon sponsored by Mease Manor and the Committee On Aging. Musical entertainment will be provided.

To RSVP, please call the Hale Senior Activity Center at (727) 298-3299.
