CMA Continues Free Speaker Series

CLEARWATER - Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) will continue its free speaker series on Thursday, May 20, with "Effects of Oil on Our Local Marine Ecosystem and Animals." In light of the recent oil spill off the coast of Louisiana, there will be many environmental impacts for a long time to come. During the presentation, representatives from CMA and the Sierra Club will address the impact on the marine environment and how specific animals are impacted by oil spills. Video clips from a press conference CMA recently hosted on the oil spill will also be used. "Effects of Oil on Our Local Marine Ecosystem and Animals" will include the following:

  • 6:00 p.m.: Snacks/Welcome
  • 6:30 p.m. - 7:30p.m.: Presentations by CMA's Director of Education, Joe Malo, and Sierra Club Representative
  • 7:30 p.m. - 8p.m.: Question and Answer Session

As part of this free program, CMA will host "Sub-Sea Diving Adventures" on June 17th. Visit www.SeeWinter.com to see speaker series lectures planned for the entire year.
