
Safety Harbor Library Hosts Hurricane 101Don't be caught off guard! Attend Hurricane 101, a free program at the Safety Harbor Public Library on May 20th at 6:30 p.m. This program is presented by Tom Iovino, Pinellas County Communications Department. Dr. William Gray, head of the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University Department of Atmospheric Science and a pioneer in the science of hurricane forecasting, states information indicates the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season will have significantly more activity than average and estimates that 2010 will have about 8 hurricanes (average is 5.9), 15 named storms (average is 9.6), 75 named storm days (average is 49.1), 4 major (Category 3-4-5) hurricanes (average is 2.3).
