
Abilities Guild Elects New Board of Directors
Pat Brant, Recording Secretary; Al Tower, 2nd Vice President; Barbara Hoskinson, Corresponding Sec.; Dave Gauler, Assist. Treasurer; Sherrie Morton-Tetrick, 1st Vice President; Bill DeMambro, President; Melissa Thornton, installer, Exec Assist. to President DeLucia. On May 6th the officers of the Abilities Guild for the fiscal year 2010-2011 were duly installed at a dinner party at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort as the Guild celebrated thirty years of fundraising for the Abilities Foundation. Bill DeMambro was installed for a second year as President of the Abilities Guild with Sherrie Morton-Tetrick as 1st Vice-President; Al Tower, 2nd Vice President; Roger Ormerod, Treasurer; David Gauler, Assistant Treasurer; Pat Brant, Recording Secretary; Barbara Hoskinson, Corresponding Secretary. "A Waltz Down Memory Lane", a retrospective of the years the Abilities Guild worked with the Abilities Foundation, was presented on screen by the President/CEO of the Foundation, Frank DeLucia, after which roses were presented to the attending past presidents of the Guild. On his Keyboard Splendor, Steve Mullis took everyone on a trip through the years as he played and sang many favorites for dancing and enjoying. It was also announced that the Abilities Guild will be raising funds this coming year in order to support the Abilities Foundation in meeting the needs of returning veterans with job training, job placement, housing, health and recreational opportunities, and to support the high school training programs for candidates in Pinellas County. A check in the sum of $33,800, this year's fundraising profits, was presented to the Abilities Foundation for its use in aiding the disabled.
