It's Party Time at Cooters!CLEARWATER BEACH - To celebrate its 17th Anniversary, Cooters Restaurant & Bar will host a big tent party for friends, visitors, and area residents. The two-night party will include live music, special theme menus, food and drink specials, free prizes, a Corn Hole tournament, and a raffle for a 50" plasma TV. Profits from the raffle will benefit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The anniversary bash will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, with a pig roast, live music by local band "The Bottom Feeders", and free prizes from Cooters throughout the evening. The Bud Girls and The Jaeger Crew will be circulating throughout the restaurant and the big tent with free promotional giveaway items. Saturday's festivities start at 4:00 p.m. with Cooters traditional clambake, which features steamed clams, mussels, oysters, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn on the cob. The Bottom Feeders will take the stage at 6:00 p.m. and Cooters' staff will hold a drawing for free tickets every hour. Prizes include gift certificates for hotel accommodations, boat excursions, a chaise lounge, coolers, gift baskets, a boom box, barbecue grill, T-shirts, hats, coolies, and more. The Bacardi girls are planning on making a special appearance during the evening, and the drawing for the 50" Plasma TV will be held at approximately 10:30 p.m. Cooters (whose name originates from a type of Southern turtle) is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win the 50" Plasma TV, with profits being donated to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each, 3 for $10.00, or 8 for $20.00, and can be purchased at both Cooters and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium between now and May 22nd. The winner does not need to be present to win. "This annual party is our way of saying thank you for loyal patronage to all of our guests who have visited Cooters Restaurant over the past 17 years" said Carol Mears, owner of Cooters.
