Island Estates Woman's Club Awards Scholarships
The Island Estates Woman's Club Scholarship Committee presents the 2010 student scholarships. The Island Estates Woman's Club awarded two scholarships to outstanding Clearwater High School students, Melissa Dohme and Sarah Kadis. They are both excellent scholars with clear-cut goals for their future education. Melissa will be attending St. Petersburg College and Sarah will be going to the University of Florida. In their application essays, both girls wrote about the most admired person in their lives and in each case it was her mother. Both mothers proudly accompanied them for the presentation of the $1500 scholarships. During the year, the club supports many local charities while raising money for the scholarships. You may also want to save the date of January 18, 2011 for the Scholarship Fashion Show! We need your support, so join now! IEWC meets the third Tuesday of the month, September through May, at local restaurants/clubs with great programs each month. Members (a resident of Island Estates) pay $15.00, and associate members (a member of good standing who moves away from Island Estates) pay $20.00.
