Julia Bennett Ward Named Valedictorian at Davidson College

Valedictorian Julia Bennett Ward shows off her diploma after graduating from Davidson College.

Julia Bennett Ward was graduated from Davidson College, North Carolina, on May 16th, receiving First Honor for the highest grade point average in the class. She graduated magna cum laude with a major in Spanish. Ward was recently inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the Spanish Award at Convocation.

Julia spent her junior year studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. She has been active in Dance Ensemble, the Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools, the Timmy Foundation, and the Ada Jenkins Community Center dental clinic. She will be teaching with Teach for America in Arizona, while working towards a Masters Degree in Education and pursuing Pre-Medical Studies.

Julia is from Port Orange, Florida, and is the daughter of William W. Ward and Deborah Noah Stoekel of Port Orange. She is the granddaughter of Raymond L. and Julia Noah of Clearwater.
