Meeting Called to Deal With Planned Closing of Clearwater Beach Library and PoolA community meeting has been called for tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center. All residents and business people of Clearwater Beach, Island Estates, and Sand Key are urged to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to receive information on the proposed closing of the newly renovated Beach Library and the Beach Pool because of deficits in the City's budget. Discussion will be on what alternatives the City Council has to taking this drastic action; how to encourage the Council members to use alternatives and how to convince them of the taxpayers concern with the way our taxes are proposed to be used. The decision is far from final, but experience shows that it is never too soon to defend our rights as taxpayers.
