Clearwater Library Hosts Summer Library Activities and Reading Program

CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Public Library System is hosting a variety of summer reading program activities throughout the summer. Highlights for the first week, beginning June 14, include:

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: Monday, June 14, 2:00 p.m.
The first 100 students to sign up for the Summer Reading Program get a free book.
Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave.

Shell Crafts for Kids: Tuesday, June 15, 10:00 a.m.
Make a seashell craft. Limited to the first 50 children in grades K through 5. Call to register.
Beach Library, 69 Bay Esplanade

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: Tuesday, June 15, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
The first 100 students to sign up for the Summer Reading Program get a free book.

Family Storytime:Wednesdays, June 16-Aug.4, 10:30 a.m.
Come to the library for stories, songs, videos, and to create a fun take-home craft project.

Drumming Circle: Wednesday, June 16, 2:00 p.m.
Participate in a facilitated drum circle for children of all ages.
East Library, 2251 Drew St.

Mobile Medical Van Demonstration: Wednesday, June 16, 2:30 p.m.
Learn about how these services are provided and how they benefit our community.
North Greenwood Library, 905 N. MLK Jr. Ave.

Kids Chess Club: Wednesdays, June 16-Aug. 4, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Kids of all ages welcome! Improve your game or start from scratch. Please bring your own boards.

Family Storytime: Thursdays, June 17-Aug. 5, 10:00 a.m.
Enjoy stories, crafts, and fun for the whole family.

Family Storytime: Thursdays, June 17-Aug. 5, 11:00 a.m.
This storytime includes videos, coloring and crafts, as well as bilingual Spanish learning materials.

Lost World Reptiles Presents Snakes: Thursday, June 17, 3:00 p.m.
This program is an engaging presentation that teaches children about snakes.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Friday, June 18, 2:00 p.m.

Lego Club: Saturday, June 19, 2:00 p.m. Come to the Lego Club and build. East Library, 2251 Drew St.

Hip Hop for Tweens: Saturday, June 19, 2:00 p.m.
Boys and girls ages 8 to 12 will learn the latest age appropriate hip hop dance moves. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. No experience necessary. No groups please.
