Charities Honored by Rotary Club of Clearwater

The Rotary Club of Clearwater, at the Belleair Country club, recognized the following recipients of local charities: (Left to Right) Barbara Mendelsohn, Board of Directors, Willa Carson Health Center; Annie Tyrell, Exec. Director, 211 Tampa Bay Cares; Barbara Green, Exec Director, Homeless Emergency Project; Grant Peterson, Chairman Board of Directors, 211 Tampa Bay Care; Jode Eye, Co-Founder and President, Clothes to Kids, Inc.; Jeannie Shapiro, Executive Director, Clearwater Free Clinic; Marsha Rimer, Executive Director; Bay Area Pregnancy Center, Kate Kelly; Executive Director, Kimberly Home, Jana Carpenter, RN, Board of Directors, Treasurer, La Clinica Guadalupana, Inc.

Local charities benefited from the recent charity Kingfish Tournament sponsored by the Rotary Club of Clearwater. Over $41,000 was distributed at a Wednesday noon meeting of the Rotary Club to those present. Other programs, including the Rotary Club Endowment for Local Charities, the Student of the Month program, and Good Acts, a program by the Clearwater Parks and Recreation and the Clearwater Police Department to honor and recognize youth for their good acts, also received Rotary grant funding.
