Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art Offers Art & Story Hour

TARPON SPRINGS -The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art collaborates with the Palm Harbor Library to provide a monthly Art & Story Hour for families. The July Art & Story Hour will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 6:00 p.m. in the Interactive Gallery of the museum. This program is held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. It is open to children of all ages and their families, but ideal for children from ages four to eight. The program is included with museum admission for adults; children are free. Families can explore the galleries before or after the event.

Art & Story Hour includes an art-related storybook reading led by Palm Harbor Library Assistant Director and Coordinator of Member Services, Lois Eannel, and a hands-on activity led by LRMA education staff and docents. The books are: What Is This? by Antje Damm; The Wonderful Towers of Watts by Patricia Zelver; and Metal Man by Aaron Reynolds.

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is located just west of U.S. Highway 19 at 600 Klosterman Road, on the Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College. Museum hours are 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday; 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday; 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Friday; and 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and free to children and students with ID. On Sundays, admission is a suggested donation of $5 (but visitors may pay what they can and enjoy the museum) and free docent tours are offered at 2:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays and major holidays. Isabelle's Museum Store is open during regular museum hours.
