Correction to Largo Commission storyHi Mr. Pollick, Just wanted to clarify a point in Leo Coughlin's article about the Largo's Commission meeting…His statement: "It was cured by an extralegal solution. The city merely will not do annexations in that period and the election will proceed, without any written agreement." Is not accurate…Actually, the city still agreed to sign the election contract, which is required in order for our office to conduct their election. However, we changed one date in the contract from August 11 to August 18 and changed the wording so that the city agrees not to have any annexations take effect until after the election. The city can still continue with their annexation procedures, such as first hearings, etc. during that time period. Here is the revised paragraph from the contract: The City/Town will provide the Supervisor with the City/Town definition/boundaries (which includes ALL current annexations) no later than Noon, August 18, 2010. The City/Town agrees that NO changes to the City/Town definition/boundaries will be made effective between Noon, August 18, 2010 and Midnight, November 2,2010. Sincerely, Nancy Whitlock
