All runners-up will receive a $2,000 tennis equipment package. The winners will be chosen by votes cast through the Internet. Tennis players in Clearwater are urging everyone they know to go on line to www.besttennistown.com/ and vote for our team. While there, you can watch a short video of our players at McMullen Booth courts and hear about the programs available there. The deadline to vote is July 26th. The three top winners will be announced on the USTA website on July 28th. The final lineup and prizewinners will be announced at the 2010 U S Open in New York. One of the first things I did when I came to Clearwater in 1942 was get involved in a tennis tournament at the tennis courts on Clearwater's beautiful bayfront. I never won, but it was fun trying. Today Clearwater has the bayfront courts still in place, plus the extensive McMullen Booth courts in East Clearwater, and a nice set of courts on Clearwater Beach, which our visitors enjoy along with residents.
