Owner Jay Thomas (standing, far right holding the leash of his boxer, the pub's top dog, "Hoot"), and Managing Partner Jeff Brown (standing, dark shirt) gathered with friends and family on the Brown Boxer's breezy patio last week for lunch. The pub is dog friendly and serves their full menu everyday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.

CLEARWATER BEACH - After just one month, the Brown Boxer Pub & Grill, located in Pelican Walk (the former Outback Steak House location), is fast becoming a Clearwater Beach favorite for both locals and tourists. Owner Jay Thomas moved here from outside of Philadelphia three years ago and said he loves Clearwater. "I love living here. I live on Island Estates and living near the beach is my dream come true. It's all I ever wanted."

He's also happy with the restaurant's location on Mandalay. "It's a fun, laid back atmosphere. Come in and have the coldest beer on the beach."

The Brown Boxer is just what comes to mind when you think of a pub with its warm, dark wood interior, full liquor bar and massive selection of beer, pool tables and darts. But then it's much more upscale than the typical pub because of its spacious and immaculate dining areas, 21 HD TVs, and breezy dog friendly patio (also with big screen TVs). All DirecTV Sports Package games, as well as UFC and Boxing Pay-Per-Views, are shown throughout the pub. Live music is presented for entertainment on nights with no big games.

Families appreciate a kid's menu included in the bill of fare, which by the way, is served in its entirety until close at 2:00 a.m.

The Brown Boxer serves Pub Grub-fish n chips, Buffalo wings, and nachos. But like everything else, they've raised the bar by adding lots of seafood and salads to the menu such as: clams, conch fritters, ahi tuna, and coconut shrimp. Their Napa Valley Salad, consisting of spinach mixed with mushrooms, bacon bits, red onions, feta cheese, pecans, cranberries, and Granny Smith apples, is attracting a cult following.

There are twelve dinner entrees to choose from. In addition to steaks, including New York Strip, the menu features Honey Salmon, Mahi Mahi, King Crab, Snow Crab, Pulled Pork Platter, Grouper Platter, and chicken dishes, including everyone's southern favorite, chicken fried chicken. Pulled Pork, Grouper, French Dip, and Cheese Steaks join the Brown Boxer's burgers and wraps to round out sandwich items.

The Brown Boxer is located at 483 Mandalay Ave. in Clearwater Beach. Hours of Operation are 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m., with full menu available until close. For more information, and to see the upcoming list of shows, visit their website at www.TheBrownBoxer.com or call (727) 441-6000.
