Dr. Allen is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Springtime City, which has hosted the annual day promoting children's health for the past 17 years. The event featured school physicals and immunizations, vision and hearing tests, spinal exams, cardiac screenings for student athletes and more. Teams from Morton Plant Mease Health Care were among those taking part in the fair. Service organizations, such as Civitan and Sertoma, were also on hand to lend their assistance.

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Springtime City were caught on camera at the group's 17th annual Highlight on Health, Children's Health Fair at the Long Center on July 24. At front, kneeling, are president-elect Christy Flees, left, and Terri Lauber.
