Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisHave you ever been to a "dive in" movie? No, I didn't lisp. You are invited to bring your noodle, the kind you use in the water, that is, and join your neighbors at a dive in movie on Friday night, August 13, at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center Pool. The G-rated movie, Surf's Up, will be shown poolside at 8:30 p.m. (after it's begun to get dark, of course) You can have it all, a dip in the pool plus a great free movie. The only charge will be admission to the pool. If you'd rather watch it from a dry seat poolside, you can do that too. This adventure has been arranged for you by the folks at the Recreation Center and the board of the Friends of the Clearwater Beach Library and Recreation Center. So, come enjoy! Although a bunch of you are seizing the opportunity to learn new ways to use your computers during the Monday afternoon sessions at the library, there's room for more. You no longer have to wait until grandchildren show up to learn a new skill. The charming young man at the Beach Library is there from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. every Monday afternoon to show you how to on computer programs, and there's no charge. Also, unlike your grandkids, he's not likely to urge you to buy new computers or new toys. He has plenty of computers handy so you don't have to bring yours, even if it is a laptop.
